Gouves - Area information

The location of Iraklis apartments offer quick and easy access to all points of interest.

The city of Heraklion and "Nikos Kazantzakis" airport are18 and 16 Km. away, while the archaeological site of Knossos and the Crete aquarium are 17 and 4 Km away.

The cosmopolitan Hersonisos and Malia are 7 and 13 Km away while the center of Gouves with it's market and stores, is no more than 1,5 km away.

There is a super market 100 m. from the apts. Close to Iraklis there is a bus stop with frequent , every day schedules to Heraclion, Malia, Hersonisos, Cretaquarium.

In the area there is also the picturesque site of Agia Paraskevi with its cavern and beautiful surroundings.

Gouves is a tourist oriented  settlement about 15 km from the city of Heraklion, situated along a wide sandy beach on the north coast of Crete. Due to its convenient location it is considered by many to be the perfect base to explore the island of Crete while you can enjoy a carefree and comfortable vacation by the sea.

Iraklis apartments stands 300m. from the beach front (3 min. on walk). There you will find a wide variety of activities , from just walking along the beachfront promenade and enjoying the magical sunset, to any kind of water-sport (canoeing, water skiing...) and beach sport (beach volley, beach tennis...) and of course swimming and sunbathing at the blue flag awarded, golden sand plage of Gouves.  At the beach main road you will also find many souvenir shops,boutiques,super markets, beach bars, tavernas and restaurants where you can try dishes from the Cretan and international cuisine.

Iraklis is also situated close to the main road where there is a frequent (every 15 minutes) daily bus service. From the bus stop there you will be able to to go anywhere along the north coast of Crete or to the city of Heraklion with its museums and archaeological sites and of course Nikos Kazantzakis airport.
